Oldtime Game History
Dan Findley, who played in the Oldtime Baseball Game from 2011 to 2015 during his days as a catcher at Bowdoin College and has remained with the game as a coach, has worn this uniform every year since 2014.
Framingham State College left-hander Orazio Azzarello was wearing it 1998 when he struck out former New York Yankee Mike Pagliarulo, who, like Azaarello, is a native of Medford, Mass. Azzarello went on to wear the uniform again in 2000 and 2001. Azzarello, now varsity baseball coach at Medford High, has remained with our game as a coach.
In 1999, it was worn by Ricky Devanna, who at the time was a student at Westford Academy. Though still in high school, he pitched two scoreless innings and was named MVP. Reid Jackson of Suffolk University, who wore it in 2008, played professionally in Belgium in 2010. Charlie McConnell of Belmont Hill School, who wore in 2012 and ’13, was selected in the 13th round of the MLB draft by the Seattle Mariners in 2018.
