Uniform & Team History

Later known as the Boston Braves, the 1890 Beaneaters finished in fifth place in the National League. Their top player was Cambridge native John Clarkson, who won 26 games that year and went on to win 328 for his career. He was inducted into Hall of Fame in 1963. Clarkson, who died in 1909, is buried in Cambridge Cemetery.

Oldtime Game History

Introduced to the Oldtime Baseball Game in 2009, it has been worn only only by Lou Merloni, who played nine seasons in the major leagues, including six seasons with his hometown Boston Red Sox. The Framingham native now appears on NBC Sports Boston and Sportsradio 93.7 WEEI. Lou has continued to wear it from 2010 through 2017.
