Oakland native Billy Martin, who would later play for and manage the New York Yankees (and also the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers and his hometown Oakland A’s) played for the Oakland Oaks in 1948 and ’49.

Oldtime Game History

James Greeley, a longtime coach in the Oldtime Baseball Game as well as varsity baseball coach at Newton North High School, has worn this uniform in 2019, ’21 and ’23-24. He pitched in the game from 2005 to 2011 during his days at Newton North and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and he is the only two-time MVP in the game’s history,

Nick Tempesta of Eastern Connecticut State College, who wore it in 2000, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2001. NECN sportscaster Chris Collins wore it in 2003.
